Righto due to the 3 kids I now have I need a wagon. I can't keep it stock for long so first things first is lower it. Will BA XR6 springs be good enough to lower the family car or do I need to go lower. I don't want large gaps from the tyre to the guard.

Can I just get the springs done and not shocks? Or will I need shorter shocks too?

Hmm... i woulda say you'd need shorter shocks aswell as the springs. Are you planning on getting new Rims aswell? If so, Camber kits too.

Do wagons have leaf springs in the rear or springs/shocks?

Wagons have leafs. Take a look at the next XR ute you see and that'll be the ride height of your wagon. If you're only going down to XR height your standard shocks should still be ok, but if you want to go lower I would recommend new shocks.

i got a ba wagon with king sl in the front, and the rear reset 75mm, i have pedders sports rider in the back and stock shocks in the front, if you dont go too low your shocks should be fine but i would upgrade the back as it gets a bit bouncy with weight in the back, as for camber kit i didnt need one there was enough length on the original studs to shim it out.

as provked said no need for short shocks in the front as ba's have a short stroke standed i work for pedders and it not offen we change them and pedders also do a lowered leaf spring which i would suggest one problem that provked is going to have is spring slap soon enuf but super low sport riders will leave it just over the tyre and no camber kits needed....

The rears get new leaf springs or get the stock ones reset?

you can do either, doesnt really matter. i ended up buying new ones for cheaper than the labour to get them reset...
either way you get the same result...

Really? I had some done a couple of years ago, reset 3inchs, extra leaf fitted, and retempered, and it was only $180 for the pair. I woulda thought new leaves would be alot dearer because of the fair amount more steel in the than a coil.

How much were the newies?

pedders quoted me $200 each ($400 pair) to reset the leaves, so i went to the shop down the road (who also sell pedders gear) and i bought new ones for $125 each ($250 pair).... doesnt make sense i know, i got a quote for the total lowering job from both shops, pedders were $350 dearer overall than the place i got i lowered at, who also use pedders gear.. (except i got new leaves instead of resetting current ones)
