hey guys,
dropped my car off at Impact Automatics in croydon, east melb, this morning to get my transmission serviced looked at with a new solenoid put in as it was slamming into gears. half way through the day i get a phone call from them and he says "sorry daniel this isnt going to be your day" they took it for a drive and got it up on the stands and took off the bottom tray of the trans and stopped there as some bits of the clutch plates had burnt and were sitting on the bottom tray. he said i would need to get my trans "reco"d which would cost $1800, instead of the $400 that the service and new solenoid would cost i rang my dad and he said, which is kinda fair, that he couldnt justify spending $1800 on a car that is only worth, to the insurers, $3000. i think my dad wants to write it off help plz! cheers Daniel

or pick up a 2nd hand auto box!
i'd let the one go i've got sitting out the back for ~$300 - i'm sure you can find someone over there who has done a manual conversion, or is wrecking a car & has an auto box around

yeah dude there a few auto trannys go here second hand fo0r round 300-400 ish....just ask a round or post a thread in the wanted forum.....also a mnaul conversion will set u back right on the 1K mark

Adrian (arm79) I believe has one for sale.
He's across the city for you, but he's a top bloke, and he needs the money. Rumour has it he's been selling his body to make ends meet. But that's just speculation...

nah, no sexual favours required to get a transmission off adrian, i think he said he had a few more when i got mine off him yesterday

i have a second hand ea 4 spd you can have the whole car if ya want for nothing so just goes to show how easy they are to find

thanks guys but i got the reco trans!!!
my dad did some work for his old company a few weeks ago and hadnt got paid, so his old business said they would pay for the trans for the work my dad did
omg soooooooo smooth! cant feel the gear changes at all!
