OK guys,
I have an EL that is in need of some love for a blueslip, where can I get the upper and lower ball joints done. I have already removed the spindles from the car, and just need to drop them off and have them pressed out and replaced. Who can recommend a place for this in Sydney as well as a rough price. All the hard work is done. Cheers Brett

I supplied my own ball joints and dropped them at the local Pedders

Pedders hit me for $20 per joint to do mine, but I had already knocked out my old ones, not that hard to do with a good hammer

Yea I'm 22 the last time and only time I got a mechanical repair was a clutch change at 15 years old and that was a measly 180bucks in labor I remember 40 dollar wheel alignments and 5 dollars to strip n refit tyres stupid labor is going up I miss those prices |

I got mine in and out with el cheapo tools may have taken two hours but worth it knowing I accomplished it |

If you don't have the tool & press to do the job, $20 to R & R each ball joint isn't too bad.
I bought myself the tool because we had them on a good sale at work, still wasn't cheap, but with 3 Eseries, It was a good investment. I've got access to a 60t press, so no stress to press them. My little 6t press in my shed at home isn't anywhere near big enough to do the job I found out, the hard way lol. Cheers ToranaGuy

I have a press and the G&G Technics tool for removal and installation...
There is no way you'd flog those with a hammer to remove it... It's a cast upright... If you destroy the molecular structure of the metal by heating it or impacting it with a hammer you could run the risk of them just "failing" one day... The uprights are one part of the car you put tremendous faith in all the time... To me this is one of the jobs that if you don't have the right tooling then it is nearly bordering unsafe to try with anything else... The G&G Technics tool is worth it's weight in peace of mind... My opinion anyway... Those who like hammering on a cast upright, feel free to continue to do so... Cheers, Tim
