Our EF Fairmont sometimes Bangs into gear,
By that I mean changes gears with such force it spins the rear wheels (Not that I mind but the Missus gets the s**t ) We've had it to gearbox places but they say that they will have to pull the box down to understand the problem.
Does anyone know what it might be ?
Thanks

The soleniod its self are around $350 but reconditioned/cleaned ones can be bought for around $170. To fit the soleniod the valve body has to be lowered and must be done when the trans is cold.

Im having a problem with my trans thumping but its due to overheating fluid, the torque converter is slipping in lock up mode. Will be replacing the trans this saturday.
