Firstly like to say G'day to everyone been reading a few post on here the past couple of days, great site. I own a stock standard BF XR6 and was convinced in to slowly upgrading it.
What i'd like to know is i'm looking in to upgrading the brakes on it and was wondering which is the best way to go. I was looking at brembo brakes but i heard that they needed 18-19" rims so wasn't to sure.
Any help you could give me would be awesome cheers :D

yeah the brembos need 18+ rims, and they only clear some factory 18s (BA 18" options is one i know of for sure).
also alot of aftermarket 19s don't clear them either, anything with dish that has the spokes closer to the rim centreline you need to check for caliper clearance.

as for "the best way", brembo 4 pot fronts are fairly common and relatively cheap now, they work good, so its seems like a logical way to go.
bank around the $1500 mark give or take.

you could use the upgraded brakes that are fitted to police cars too. Bigger calipers.

BF brakes are pretty good standard though. They are already improved over the BA ones.

Any NA BF or non XR8 has the same brakes as the BA cars. Only the Turbo and XR8 got larger front calipers from the Territory and the early ones got the larger rear rotors too, with Ford removing them along the way back to standard non-ventilated BA.

Your options aside from Brembo's are the calipers and rotors from a BF T or XR8, they are $750 supplied form FTG and will fit with your current wheels.

There are also the BA Premium fronts with are a bit bigger still, 325 x 32 Vs 322 x 28. These are the best non Brembo type of caliper/rotor you can put on a BA/F but MAY not fit in your wheels.
