A mate has given me a set of the old style chrome tramp rods/bars that as far as I know were fairly common in the 80's, he had them spare from a Hemi.

Same as these on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/LEAF-SPRING-TRAM ... dZViewItem

Which way do they go on? At first I just assumed facing forward, but then thinking about it I've seen some factory set ups with factory fitted tramp rods that go above the leaf spring forward facing. Then there's the Caltracs which I think go under facing forward, so now I'm not sure which way they go.
And I'm not sure what way the spring bends when you boot it either to work out were they should be.

So can anyone confirm that they go forward or rearward facing under the leaf spring?

And yes, I have heard they are illegal for road use due to hanging lower. I'm only looking to fit them for a quick test on my neighbours private race track in his backyard.

hi,tramp bars run from the diff mounts under the springs forward. the rubber stopper should sit 10mm or closer under the front section of the spring. when you launch the diff yoke at the front moves upwards. they stop diff bounce on wheelspin.
