well the ef did 110,000km before the one in it (had 350,000km odd) broke, so 10 bucks later its off and going
you could always make your own up to go in there, with a decent quality old school brake light switch in there

Yep, did mine yesterday. Probably only get 18 months out of one at the most. I'm not one of these 'always on the brakes' drivers either. City driving will obviously wear them out quicker though. I've tried genuine and aftermarket, but they all wear out at the same rate.

I thought I was the only one... changed it 20,000ks ago and it's just f**k up again... works for a while after giving it the boot, then it's cactus again...

I heard that genuine are the best way to go. They usually carry at least a 12 month warranty. at least there cheap.

done mine on my el a couple of times, should have done it again but found a dodgy fix, cable tie the whole unit up (tried elec tape but stretched and loosened) it keeps going for ages, i know it works because i put a small whole in the back of my eyeline light which i can see when i hit the brakes in the rear vision mirror, did this because i was paraniod of continually driving with no brakes lights.

i have found in my time at a ford dealership that fitting the brake switch from a local F250 does the trick. shouldnt be a problem again. goes for all falcons that accept this switch.
