Is $750 with a three month warranty a good price for a four speed auto out of a 1998 XHII V8? The mechanic told me that my transmission has "worn out". What does this mean? Can anyone help out?

It would go alright cold had all the gears just fine, but then once it warmed up it wouldn't grab anymore.

i got quoted 850 or so to fix my 4sp in my i6. instead i dropped a t5 in the car for a little more than that

it probalbly just needs a good service (ie: adjust the bands aswell) 750 will be a second hand box. a new one would be about $1700 |
