I have just got my car back from getting a wheel alignment because I lowered it and they have recommended I get a camber kit. Are they reall worth it or are they fine to drive as is?

If your tyres start to wear more on the inside or outside.. get the kit.. although.. if your car is lowered I'd get one anyways.
I picked up my nolathane kit for $50.

I have a K mac adjustable camber kit and always have problems with the rubber bushes squeeking. Not sure what they're worth but the shim type ones are the cheapest.

Whats a couple of tyres worth $200-$500, shim type camber kit not fitted approx $60 per side and wheel alignment about $60. i would go for the proper wheel alignment with new camber kit and save buying 2 tyres every year!

definately get a kit!

My tyres are Bridgestone S-03 and $330 each, and I've just found out today that because my car needs a kit, and i dont have one, the tyres have worn badly, are unroadworthy, and need replacing. They're less than a year old!

Basically, the suspension cannot be adjusted enough to do a proper wheel alignment without it, so i was always just receiving a half-done wheel alignment.

Took 5 years to hear this so not real happy! Could have saved a lot of money on tyres if they told me a few wheel alignments ago. Probably only told me this time because i was asking lots of questions about the severe wear on my right front.

Been quoted $380 for supply and fit camber & caster kit and wheel alignment.

Also been told quite common in falcons.

Booked in for the kit next Monday. Pedders.

Might have to do a tyre rotation and "use" the rest of the rubber before I purchase new tyres tho. Seems a waste otherwise. :P

Just fit it yourself.. and drive slowly to get a wheel alignment straight away after afterwards hehehe
Full castor/camber wheel alignments cost $70-80 from what I can gather.

i don't have one on mine, and it's running a bit of camber, yet i have no uneven wear YET.
i do recommend getting one though, the last car i had with superlows destroyed the new front tyres within 10,000km.

The quote i got for $60 per side (supplied only) was from Bursons in Dandenong. I ended up getting Noltec from a mate in Stawell for $54 per side, i gather Bursons sell the same brand.
