you guys who are having spring seating probs are you running shortened shocks or standard units?

Wouldnt call it a spring seating problem, but sometimes they become unseated when on a belly-hoist (lol, funnily enough - last time it was up there having rear shocks replaced). Standard shocks on rear. Shortended numbers on the front, no dramas with em.

Just out of interest guys... how hard is it to put springs in yourself, and about how long does it take...

Need any special equipment????

oull need a spring compressorfor the front, and a decent set of socktes and ring spnners. But apart from that, no other tools relly needed if memory serves me right

How low can one go before a chamber kit is required??? I only want to lower the front about 1-2 inches???? The rear springs are Yellow, and the shocks are labeled Monroe.

How do you know what shocks you need, or springs??

Just jack the front end up, take off the wheel???

Sorry about the Q's... but I ended up doing a lot of work on the EA myself, kinda wanna get it right without various trips to the shops inbetween...

Its a peice a piss to do, probably one of the best things to get would be a workshop manual if you dont allready have one. As for shocks they should be matched to your spring rate, so if you lower your car chances are your spring rate will be higher and will need a shock according to this rate. Shock selection will drastically improve/impede you handling performance. You have a couple of options- stick with standard which is the cheapest but probably not the best option, next would be to get a set of sports shortened shocks and fit them which will be noticably better but still not the best option, and lastly would be a fully adjustable shock like koni's, but expect to pay a fortune for these. It would be a good idea to go and speak to a reputable sespension shop and get thier advice to match the shocks to the springs you are planning on fitting

car looks great with superlows and new shocks only thing is rear looks lower than the front

i dont know how true it is but ive heard on falcons if you cut springs and go over a big dip , the spring can pop out of the mounting....
