Needing a new clutch for my EF XR6.
I was wondering what a reasonable price would be to get a new clutch put in?
(I'll be able to supply the parts myself)

Any advice would be great.

I would hazard a guestimation of about $400 in labour...

If you purchased/hired the equiptment needed you could get out of it for less than ½ that labour cost plus this site provides all the info needed to do a clutch change over.

+1 for doin it youself. you will learn more about your car and feel good about doin it.
Its preety simple when you get to it. tail shaft off. Gearbox off. Bellhousing off. New clutch in bellhousing on box on tailshaft on then drive away.easily done in a day.

Great, I think I might try it myself. Got a mate who's a mechanic, so hopefully he'll be able to see over things so I don't ruin anything!

Some advice...remove intake snorkel and thermofans, that way when you remove the transmission support bracket, the engine+transmission has more of an angle so you can get to the top bellhousing bolts, also if possible, support the rear of the transmission with something so that it doesn't tilt too much. Remove the top bellhousing bolts first...it is a pain in the a*** to remove last. Make sure you unplug the battery...starter motor can carry some serious juice. Empty transmission fluid, or else it will go everywhere when you remove the tailshaft...always a good time to replace the oil while you're at it.

Make sure when you put it all back together, the clutch plate actually goes in the right way. If you want to, use light thread locker on the clutch housing bolt onto flywheel.

Also a good time to check your fly wheel for any glazing...good time to get machined too. New spigot bearing is recommended.
