Ok, Here I am with a completely dismantled T5 box that I got for a good price and seems to be in good nick once I degreased the s**t outta it. Im almost about to put it together and I think... Hmmm This was from a 3.9ltr EA, I better check to make sure they didn't have a different size clutch/bellhousing etc. Ohhhh bugger, they do..

Ok so 3.2,3.9 and 4.0ltr are both single plate - Diaphragm type
3.2,3.9ltr has 241mm Disc Facings
4.0ltr has 254mm 4.0ltr Dis Facings

I can't find anywhere a mention of different Flywheel sizes, Nor bellhousing size... Are they different?

The question is, IF the Manual flywheel size is different then I have 2 options:

1) 3.2/3.9ltr flywheel and clutch kit + bellhousing bolted onto my 4.0ltr engine.
I currently have the T5 for this with a EA 3.9ltr Bellhousing, but no clutch kit and only an 4.0ltr automatic flywheel.

2) 4.0ltr flywheel and clutch kit + bellhousing bolted onto my 4.0ltr engine.
If the Bellhousing is different then I spose I need to source a T5 to 4.0ltr bellhousing and clutch kit.

Is the 4.0ltr bellhousing for t5 different size and will allow me to bolt on the bigger size clutch? I assume the bigger size clutch would be more ideal, as it would slip less.

Cheers, Tim.

the ea 3.2,3.9 and eb1 has the 240mm clutch with a 3 bolt pressure plate and flywheel.
the eb2 -au 4.0l has the 255mm clutch with a 6 bolt pressure plate and flywheel.

the good new is the ea-el 3.9/4.0l bellhousing is the same.
the ea 240mm clutch and flywheel will bolt up to all sohc engines, same goes with the 255mm clutch and flywheel..

so if you have a ea flywheel you need a ea clutch kit.
if you have a eb2-au flywheel you need a eb2-au clutch kit.
and it doesnt matter if the box is ea or eb2 the boxes work with either clutch..

Wow, Troyman, I love you... Your name will be engraved in my heart forever!

That's just what I wanted to hear, I found some more confusing stuff on a different forum, but come back to this one 10 mins later and an awesome member has shown me the light!

I don't have a Manual flywheel yet! So I'm going to source a 4.0ltr 6 bolt Flywheel and the larger clutch kit! (4.0ltr) and WOOT bell housing fits!

8-) Sorry for the excitement 8-)
Cheers, Tim.
