Hi,
I have a midified MG with a 3.5:1 Cortina diff fitted. Nothing wrong with the diff, however I am investigating converting to a LSD.

I have no idea of what model Cortina it came off... limited Internet research indicates a 4 cyl, year / model unknown. Diff number is hard to read as it is poorly cast into the housing on passangers side, with a smaller number on drivers side - still hard to read.

Does anyone know how I can convert to a LSD "on the cheap"??? - ideally retaining the housing as both the axles and housing has been shortened to fit the car.

I estimate 200 RWHP if this is needed for the replies.

Thanks

It really depends on if its a later model with B/W diff which are easy to get parts for or from a MK1 or MK11 early style pommy ones!

Hi Guys,
I appreciate the support...
Attached are three pics.
Your assistance in identifying the diff is greatly appreciated.

The information I can provide is:
Ratio is 3.5:1
Previous owner claims it is a Cortina diff???
Engineering Certificate states "Anglia style" diff

Diff functions well, however I would like to convert to a LSD.

Any ideas???

Yeah mate it looks to be an early corty/anglia diff but if you can find a mk1 gt diff centre it should go straight in and it will be lsd. Problem is they arnt very strong so 200 ponies will prob give it grief.
