whats wrong with fords new diffs i had 3.08 in my stock ef wich smashed all the spider gears so i put el xr8 complete diff in 3.45 lsd disk to disk which went well for about 2000k then turned into a single howler what is wrong with these diffs i dont do compresion lock ups or roll backs just good old burn outs....? now i have 3.45 gears on old center full off welding rods no more one wheelers....

EF/EL diffs aren't exactly new.... Burnouts will destroy any E, A or B series LSD pretty quickly and they'll eventually lose most of the LSD tension. |

maybe you should go to a diff joint and get it tightend up if you want to cane it hard..

my diff has lasted 17,000 kms soo far with plenttttttttttttttttttttttttttty of BIG burnouts. Occasionally it will single out in the wet around right hand corners, but other then that it's pretty good.
Rebuilt 3.73:1 LSD EF diff. But yeah I'm not expecting it to last too much longer. Will look at having a lokka installed when it gives up the ghost. |

And now with the wonderfully welded diff no more replacements required however next time your at the wreckers pick up a 6 pack of axles you never know when your gunna need a spare or 2

Just wandering, for all you guys who want to keep your LSD, when you go to the drags, do you avoid the burnout pit? And if so, do people consider you being a tool for not doing one? Just wandering.

Hmmmmm ive done about 3 diffs in my old fairmont.. my 4.11 LSD has help up well ive done about 20,000 on it and about 12 rear tires (my user gallery shows how 1 set of rears died quick
 )
DONT do donuts.... Thats what kills em.. Stand still line locks shouldnt blow them 2 quick....

Sometimes you can drive around the wet patch, but mostly your back tyres end up getting wet so you gotta do a quick burnout. Who cares if people think your a 'tool'? Are they gonna pay for your car if you blow something....

I will consider you a tool for not doing one, sorry cam LOL You can go around the pit, the main problem on Ford drag days is C*** with SS diffs dragging water up from the box, so as you creep out of the water, one wheel hits traction, and the other is still on water. Kill diff quick.

its worng the lsd was rebuilt and tightend up that much it was nealy a locker anyway and if it dos'nt do burnouts it aint worth having (6 sets in one week)
