Anyone,

What does DBA have over RDA or vise-versa when it comes to slotted rotors? I would presume that it's just different brands of the same type of product? What about quality?

Edit: Dont worry. Done a search on it and found some answers in past threads.

G'day

As far as i know dba and rda are the same. My brake kit that come from hoppers stoppers was supposed to be dba discs but when they arrive in the boxes they are rda. Pete koning at hoppers tells me they are the same.

Cheers

Has anyone noticed when having slotted rotors, the brakes sometimes cool down too much on freeway driving and give a harder pedal until warmed up again?
the only downside I have experienced

dont get dba slotted if your into heavy braking. mine and everyone i know with them has warped them within 3-4 months. shell out for the 4000 series if you can afford them.

What pads were you using?

When I spoke to Cam from Hightek Brakes he has advised me to use Bendix General CT instead of the Bendix Advance I have always used. He told me that the general CT are a softer pad and wont warp the rotors. Drawback is Pads don't last as long.

Exactly how hard do you brake though and do you do track work?

Ive got eh twin pot calipers with the dba slotted and tell you know every now and then they get jumped on, holding up like new still - coming up on a year and ~19,000kms later with the EBC GreenStuff pads.

yeh im using advance with my rotors. and i havent done any track work but theres a 37km loop over clear water mountain that i pound at least once a month mebbe twice. thats what gave them the beating. and even in normal traffic im leaning pretty hard on the middle pedal.

Well that doesnt sound right, dont emergency(police and ambos) vehicles use dba slotted ?.Id assume they would do alot of hard braking in these vehicles.

Cheap, and you don't even have to bed them in :) I just fitted some to my front slotted rotors but don't find they bite as hard as the Bendix Ultimates they replaced - although I think they are the cause of my warped rotors.
