Hi all

Looking for some budget options to hook the EB up with an LSD.

Q1. Will a diff (disc to disc) from an NA Fairlane bolt into an EB11?

Q2. Would and LSD centre from and ED 2.77 ratio be able to be swapped into an EB11 3.23 ss housing?

Any other sensible suggestions?

Q1, not unless you change the pinion flange and use the EA lower control arms.
Q2, I think this would be more viable then option 1
The diff center is larger for a LSD over a non LSD, but I think it may fit, you will need to setup the diff preloads and backlash again.

Thanks for the reply.

Can I use a tail shaft from an EA or EB1 if I use the NA diff? I am presuming the spline on the gearbox end will be the same.

You can but you are better of swapping the pinion flange over.

So that can be done without dimantling the diff?

I will check the Manual.

Sure can, you are best of doing it in the car with the wheels on so you can undo the nut but it can be done otside. The preload on the pinion is done with a collapsible spacer so as long as you tighten it back up to the same tension it should retain the original preload. Tip: Change the seal while its out.

Why is he better off changing the pinion flange rather than changing the tailshaft?

It would be an easier job to change tailshafts wouldnt it?

Easier yes, in my experience better no. The later model rear uni design is much better. Having been on the end of a tailshaft uni failure at high speed I hate the ealier design.
