Thats right...a minispool is a lump of steel that sits in the hemisphere and joins both axles together so that they both spin...its an absolute C*** to park and turn as the inside wheel wants to turn as much as the outside wheel causind extra tyre wear & vibrations thruout the car.....its a real prick in the wet as well....an LSD is just that...a Limited slip diff...it spins both wheels the same way a minispool does but when turning etc it allows the inside wheel to slip. hence its name Limited Slip Diff...it all depends wat u want it for...if you want to race and drop sum good skids, drop in a minispool...plus theyre cheaper than an LSD...LSDs are about $900 fitted (new) and a minispool is about $500 fitted. If you want to still have complete streetability then go for and LSD......Ive been thru this whole scenario twice..with my valiant & my fairmont & both times ive opted for the LSD over the spool...

Hope that helps ya..

so then, what's the difference between a mini-spool and a full spool diff? Or a detroit locker?

How about implementing a BA RTV electronic locking diff into earlier falcons? That'd be useful, just press a button and ya got a locker! :D
