Hey guys, for the last few weeks my EF sometimes makes a squeak from the auto. Very noticeable when idling in gear, it either goes away once you take off or I just can't hear it. Still drives great, box is tight etc.

Very fast squeak, squeak squeak sound. If I put it into neutral is speeds up for a few seconds then dies off.

Auto is a recon unit that has done maybe 10,000kms max.

Anybody heard this before? I'm puzzled.

Are you sure the squealing is coming from the driveline and not the engine bay?

If it is the driveline I'd just be doing the visible stuff, like checking the uni's and makeing sure they don't have play in them (though I doubt that would be making a squealing noise, more like when you switch from R to D and back again that you would feel a shudder or similer).

Its loud from the engine bay, louder from underneath.

Pretty sure its the auto, only does it sometimes. After turning off the car there is a loud slow squeak, like air being released.

I'll try to check for play, I'm not sure what you mean about the seal CJH. Seal on the back of the auto? Auto is basically new, no leaking. Its spotless.
