I'm just doing a project and fitting an I6 T5 behind a 5.0. What are the differences between a I6 E-series T5 and AU T5? I know the length is different, but by how much? Any other differences? eg input shaft length, in/out spline count, speed sender fitment etc.

Look through Stockstandards threads re input shaft length - he gives the dimensions.
Banarcus build thread for I6 T5 to V8.
IIRC a thread or two with Ash's comments gives the overall length of E series to AU T5's.

Cheers mate. Here are the differences I found from other posts. Anybody aware of anything else?

ford I6 input shaft is 167mm
ford v8 input shaft is 193mm

AU box is 50mm longer than E-series so the shifter sits back 50mm and the driveshaft is 50mm shorter. AU also has 2 extra bolts at the bottom of the bell housing (I6 only???)

Yeah Pete's (XR9UTE) ED Futura thread has pics of the V8 setup - bellhousing, etc.
IIRC Banarcus had a tailshaft cut down to size - I'm thinking you could probably use a std shaft - depends on the length differences of course.
I think someone recently asked if you could put an E series extn housing on an AU box.

Yeah, I converted my EB 5.0 to I6 T5 about 6-7 years ago using an EA box & CRS bellhousing with a shortened LWB V8 alloy driveshaft. I was looking for something that didn't need the trans tunnel to be modified. But from the measurements I've got so far it looks like E-series T5 shifter will be 1" forward of standard location & AU T5 shifter will be 1" rear of standard location.

I may have to investigate lengthening of the input shaft as the best option. Unless I can just fit an SN95 5.0 input shaft to an I6 box???
