Is there any difference in stall speed between the e-series v8 autos?
My Ellery's manual lists ef-el as 2000-2400 rpm but im sure i read the eb only having a 1600 rpm stally.

pretty sure Ea-ed 1600 ef/el 2000-2200

Reason is i've got a eb tranny in my ef and im about to replace the rear main seal.
A perfect time to put the ef stally back in if its higher.

I was going to change the stally in my ebxr8 stroker but was adviced from adelaide torque convertors that the standard eb v8 converter stalls between 2200 and 2400.

Is there a way to physically tell? Could you hold your foot on the brake and rev it until the car tries to move or something to that effect? Or is it more complicated then that?

Yeah stalled the car up today and it started creeping at 1500 so must be a 1600 stally .
