Just been offered a very cheap(case of beer) EA 5spd Fairmont(yes special order from factory, already checked the vin number). Going too tow it via trailer to my place and want too do a manual conversion??? Any pitfalls..
Will the pedal box fit a EL Tailshaft etc... Don't want too hire a trailer if there is no point. BTW the gearbox and clutch was recond about 10000km after the car got put up on bricks........... Cheers................

gear box side of things no problems but the pedal box will need a few mods like umbrella style hand brake taken off and a bracket welded on to it to hold up the main wire loom connetion up
any questions just ask i put a ea box in my ef not even a month ago

Had a good look and are you talking ablout the auto trans loom that comes down the passenger side>????got some resistors for the manaul conversion(ecu mod) just need to get a new spigot bearing...

Had a good look and are you talking ablout the auto trans loom that comes down the passenger side>????got some resistors for the manaul conversion(ecu mod) just need to get a new spigot bearing... yeh just cut it off im not sure what you mean buy the wire loom? is it over your break pedal? if so its probly your brake light switch and depending how the el lights work you may need it but i left mine on there anyways and have no problems nah there is a main elcetrical clip that comes in the driver side just above the throtle pedal and is boplted to the pedal box

another thing i just thought of is youll have to cut a bit out of the ends where the steering wheel connects to the pedal box and the later model ones are whider than the ea ones
