hey guys ive got a problem with my car the power steering keeps cutting in and out while driving its weird sometimes its ok turning left then half way through it gets hard its not making any noise in the power steering it has fluid and belts etc are ok has anyone had this problem before

Have you tried flushing the system with fresh p/s fluid? Possibly blocked up somewhere.

I forgot to ask, is there a pattern of when the power steering cuts in and out? If so, disconnect the outer tie rod ends and run the car and turn lock to lock. If problem goes away, look at the ball joints. Possibly siezed? Just need to rule out components one step at a time.

i just changed the ball joints so i dont know and i cant flush the system im at uni at the moment its just a pain because on sat i have a 5 hour drive home was hoping it would be ok
