eb wagon grinding steering column

hey all

i have a grinding sound out of my steering column it sounds like its inside the car not in the engine bay and the steering is a little heavier than usual plus it feels like its catching on something sometimes

has anyone had this problem before what might it be

Yeah i have. It ended up being the bearings in the column, they died & were grinding up into nothing. Steering got very heavy when they finally collapsed. I have a pic of the bottom of the column when i pulled it from the car, nothing of the bearing was left. Pic is in my build thread.

yea i thought it might be something like that ok does anyone near sydney have a decent steering column have to go looking now

Your welcome for the help, good luck with getting another column! I was quoted $65 from the wreckers for my EB one, but i had a spare in the shed, so i ended up using the spare.
