hi my diff has allways made strage noises since i got the car, so yesterday i got under and had a look to find the ratio is 3.27:1 is this ment to be a lsd? it only spins one wheel in the dry but on a wet day both, i am thinking that maybe it is a lsd but the clutches are shot and thats what the noise is. any idea? also it has a rubber fill plug other instead of a bolt how esle can i tell if its lsd?

I purchased a XR diff and it was 3:27 LSD.

i thought the XR diff was 3.45....

in the EB XR8's i think the manuals were 3:27 LSD and the auto's were 3:45 (non LSD).

LSD was standard in the XR6 & XR8. 3.45 in the XR6's & series 2 EL XR8, 3.27 in the earlier XR8's. (see fordforums.com.au brochure scans for more details)
Some 3.27 were single spinner, some were LSD. Is the car in question an XR8? LSD should have a tag on the housing saying so. There are other ways to check & they do wear out eventually.

the car is a 4.0l gli falcon, i put the jack under it today and turned the a wheel and the other side turned the other way, so i guess its just a single spinner in need of attention
