The boxes are pretty much identical in specs, dimensions and strength. Believe you just have to swap the bellhousing. Obviously the EB one may have abit more wear and tear and let go earlier if it hasn't been rebuilt but other than that they are identical.

If you fit a BTR85 or 91 (The ones fitted to EA EB ED's) to an AU -

The earlier BTR's have 4 bolts holding the bellhousing to the case.

The BTR93 thats fitted to EF - AU's have 9 bolts holding the bellhousing to the case - The bellhousing off the AU will bolt up to the 4 bolts on the earlier box and will still work ok - But it looks bodgy with the other 5 holes doing nothing.

With the earlier BTR's, you can externally adjust the bands when you service it - The later ones, you have to drop the valvebody to shim adjust the bands - Which nobody does!
