just bought an AU for cheap as chips (thursday pickin it up), think its an AU1 forte. the auto trans is loosing more litres of oil than there are days of the week. want to know if my ED auto i pulled out for my manual conversion will bolt up sweet, the boxes look about the same. also will splines on AU tailshaft be the same as output shaft of the ED gearbox?

yes, no, maybe, not sure. no F**k way their heaps different. same box, different electrics?

relax max, there all very interchangeable. ef onwards don't have dipsticks.
v8 and is btr's are a bit different though

cheers mate. so my 6cyl ED 4 speed would bolt straight into an 6cyl AU1 intech with 4 speed?

nah i had to trwal through a heap of pages to find it lol, i knew it was there because i posted in it lol
i would just fix the oil leaks in the au box if that all that wrong with it? |

car has been thrashed and i know my ed auto was a reall goer so still tossing up if il repair or replace
