my upper lower ball joints need replacing & im fairly certain that my tie rod ends are nearing the end of there life aswel. i could get new parts from ebay then have my local shop put them in for a total of around $400, but i have a chance to buy an old EF with nothing wrong (except no gearbox and engine has been picked clean) for $200 then i could just do a swap, that's IF they are compatible.
im looking at swapping the upper & lower ball joints (pull the entire thing out) and the rear shocks from an EF to my EL, are the two models compatible?

In the same vein does any one know how muck lower the EF/L XR is lower than the Gli?

about the same as putting king springs "low" springs in a gli i think, very similar anyway

Yeah I want to lower my Gli beng the first non-XR I have ever owend it feels very floaty and had mad ammounts of body roll,
But it is my daily so I dont want to impact on driveability in carparks ect I was thinking of dropping it by about 1.5in. What do you rekon?

my cars on low lovels springs and it scrapes the front bar in my driveway so its pissing me off at the moment but i kno it handles alot better than my old ef did with its standard height it was like driving a fishing boat around corners lol. but it could still definatly be improved with sway bars

I know what ya mean but it is still an EF I am not gonna sike a but load of cash into trying to get it to handle like a Lotus.
