Hey i recently purchased a ef fairmont auto and noticed that it wont go into 4th at all below 70km/h, either in econ or not. Just wondering if this is the norm for the ef's? or should i get it looked at.

my ea wont change into 4th either..??
is that normal for a 3spd 70kmh is about right tho

I did some work on a friend's EF wagon a few months ago and I found the same thing - wouldn't upshift to 4th below 70kmh, no matter whether backing off the throttle or whatever.
My EL wagon is different - will upshift at 50-55kmh depending on throttle position and load.

Yea my old eaii 4 speed would go into 4th about teh same but the ef wont, and its killing hte fuel bill too, 14.2l/100km driving like a grandpa

my ef does the same but when ya turn econ off it changes into 4th i just dont get it
