EFXR8 dropped with 19's, dose not stear back out of a corner

Hey All,

Im having a issue with my stearing, what it dose is when im coming out of a corner it kinda jolts and dosent really come back. I have replaced the rack & tie rods with brand compenents & its just a little better now but still now like factory.

The car is dropped all round with king springs super low & monroe rear shocks & not sure about the front shocks but they look to be king brand.

Dose anyone else have the same problem? what should i do?

first its does...not dose.

You may need to wait a while for a reply.

Anyways you say you have 19s on and super lows all round. I am not expert but I think you need your guards rolled so that the tyres don't scrub when you steer. It is probably not straightening up when you let go of the wheel when turning, because the tyre is scrubbing against the guard. This will hold the tyre back from going back to the straight position and therefore no feedback on the steering wheel. Anyways like I said I ain't no expert but that's all I can think of logically.

The Rear are 19 by 9.5 inch & the front look 19 by 8 inch

the steering returning to central is a function of castor.. have you had the wheel alignment redone since its been lowered? perhaps dropping it to superlow height has mesed up you castor?

toe also has an affect on self centering, probably more so than caster.

Get a wheel alignment, post up the figures and ill tell you whats wrong

8.0 inch in front should be no problem. And your power steering is serviced, no burnt fluid , noises, etc.

also get balljoints checked. They could be too tight - which also affects self centering...

Yeh once i done the crack & tie rods end yestuday i went straight to Bob Jane for a wheel allignment. You think its got to do with the power steering pump?

Here's a simple one from left field....

Had the same problem on my EB, steering kind of
locking up, gone crazy heavy and not returning to centre.
Threw some machine oil in the bearing at the base of
the steering column, inside the car.
All fixed....!!

(Found the fix here with a search on FordMods)

i think its just a case of someone thats never had anythink but stockies, mate when you run bigger fatter wheels thay tend to follow the road.
