Does your Reverse gear "pop" out of gear?

I would say selector related?

1) How comfortable do you feel with getting an 'approved person' to sign off on your measuring/cutting/welding/general metal work?
2) Rear end out of an AU that has IRS, plus I'm fairly sure you will need to cut off some of the mounting points from an AU and transfer onto the EL. mac_xr8 (i think) off here has done it so would be the best to ask if you intend to do it.
3) Yes, unless you are very comfortable with doing the above or have a fat wad of cash willing to hand over than I would recommend not doing it.

It is a typical t5 issue, haveing problems selecting reverse. Before you go and spen money do a oil change use Transmax Z, it is an auto oil but it is the best for the T5. Also try putting the box into 4th or 5th before selecting reverse. You don't need to let the clutch out just push the stick through the gate of 4th or 5th. That will usually help you get reverse. I had the same problem with mine ages ago, when it was stock and the oil change helped but the problem was still there. After it was rebuilt it is perfect no problem with selecting.

To fix the problem the box will need to be rebuilt, wear and tear. This can cost you anywhere from $600 - $2400 exchange.
