Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone could help,

I just bought a EL fairmaont & it shifts hard from 1st to 2nd when in Drive, but if you put it in 3 it shifts fine. Can anyone help me fix this issue?

try turning the econ button on and off my futura did the same thing then i pressed econ then back to power and it was fine

First thing i'd be doing is checking the fluid level, if that's all good, make sure it doesnt have a blocked filter. if your'e still having problems, it could be an S5 or S6 solenoid, but I'd think it would possibly be a more serious issue related the clutches, bands, planetarys or the like.

I had the exact same problem with my EL - the box had roughly 220k km's on it.

My mechanic changed one of the solenoids (either S1 or S5) and gear changes are as good as new.

I *think* he used a solenoid for BA auto's - not sure though.
