Hey guys, I've busted my heater core, so I need to take the dash out to replace it.

While I'm there I'm thinking of doing a manual conversion because the dash has to come out for it, right?

What would be involved in a manual conversion on an EL Fairmont Ghia?

What do I need?

- Clutch
- Box
- Tailshaft
- Manual pedal box
- Throwout bearing

Would a T5 stand up to my mods? I'm pushing 138KW at the rears.

Thanks much guys.

138 RwKw is not alot above stock, T5 will handle it fine.

You will need a manual Bellhousing as well.

Does it drive much differently as a manual? I'm finding with the auto the car is fairly hopeless, it needs a lot of accelerator to maintain speed up hills and the car in general feels slow, too slow for something with 138KW at the rears.

It won't even spin the rears if you lock it in 1st and boot it lol.

My manual diesel Focus feels much quicker.
