just wanted to know if el xr6 auto tranny would work in an ef xr8 ...my tranny from da ef xr8 is gone..besides changing belhousing..would it work fine?..any changes in gear points if changed?....i already have the el xr6 as spare parts..im thinking of converting to manual..but if putting the xr6 tranny in ..dnt need 2 buy t5..n i might aswell put a shift kit and a hi-stall...any info would be helpful...thanks

im pretty sure the input shafts are different lengths between 6's and 8's.

thanks for the quick reply....damn..im gonna have to either rebuild the one thats in da ef..or buy a t5..does anybody recommend anything?

well a reco t5 will set you back around $2g's and thats just the gearbox alone. is your car auto or manual at the moment?

The extension housings of the V8 box is longer from memory...so won't fit AFAIK.

done thi swap there is 2 probs with this number 1 is the out pu shaft on trans is a little shorter and the trans mount dont line up to the holes properly but u can get it to work easily enough.

would the same steps apply if i wanted to convert to manual provided by Voxace...in the 6 cyl forum..?..(i will have a v8 t5 gearbox)
