I have a laser/meteor wagon approx 90/91, the motor is noisey and a bit smokey, would like to replace engine with later model motor & poss go for EFI - can change at my workshop but dont know what will fit - and if I need gearbox to suit?
Any help/advice appreciated - sorry its not a falcon!

Funny I was thinking of doing the same thing on my sisters tired old Laser. I was offered a 1.8 EFI from a camry(I think?) for free with everything included.
Unsure whats needed to get it to fit though

Best off getting a front chop from a KH/KF TX3. That has the very sexy BPT 1.8 16 Valve DOHC turbo setup. They can be had for around $2k. Good for around 130KW in stock form :)

there is an engine out of a tx3 on ebay if you can find it and it quite cheap

a mazda B6 from an importer is a straight bolt in. 1.8L turbo.

B6 is the earlier 1.6L from the KC/KE. B6T is the only DOHC model in the B6 lineup, and is turbo.

BP is the 1.8L from KF/KH/KH2.
