I've replaced a couple of those seals with the ext. housing still on the car, it's not hard. There is a thin metal housing around the rubber component, the orange you see is probably the rubber part. You can just get it out, somehow, maybe punch one side in and rip it out with pliers, etc.

I replaced one with a non-genuine seal and it was sloppy and didn't stay in place, so i recommend going genuine, the genuine one i replaced it with was much nicer.

Flat head screw driver or cold chisel and a hammer will do it. There is a thin ring around the housing, push this towards the inner seal and then pop it out. I need to do the one on my T5, it's sprayed oil all under the floor pan and is leaking badly. Should have done it when i rebuilt it! :x

The seal normally leaks due to the tail shaft sleeve being worn.
This is a press fit.....

Ford call it a bush. I have done one of those too, ford offered to push it in for me for free, but i reckon i could have done it myself. To my knowledge it depends how much the bush is worn, if it's not too bad just replacing the seal should fix the problem. The test is to push up and down on the driveshaft at the gearbox end, if it moves a lot you probably need to do the bush, if not just the seal. In most cases i reckon just doing the seal, or doing it first and seeing if that's enough, is probably the go, but a ford mechanic ought to know for sure. You generally need to take the extension housing off to replace the bush.
