Snaps discription was very accurate. If you look at the reverse switch its just near that if its there.

okay....im a noob at the transmission thingy...but i can work things out myself. Anyways I managed to source out a T5 conversion from some guy who said it was from an EBII. I read this topic and now i know how to check if it is an EBII box or not but one other thing.....im guessing the end that connects to flywheel or something is the input shaft and the output shaft is the one that connects towards the diff?

One more thing...do EBII boxes fit straight into an EL without having to replace bellhousing and such?

cheers

There is no difference in the EBII to EL box as far as I have been able to determine.

Actually BA is a lot different as it has a hydraulic clutch, but has the same bolt pattern as the AU....

depends on the condition, if it works OK then it is cheap as wreckers are asking $750 up, but if you need to get clutch kits & cable or a bearing kit then it can add up a fair bit. Also consider some one suggested a bare BA box is new from Ford at around $850 (trade I'm guessing) then perhaps not.

Here is the picture Roofing nail Snap spoke about.
It can be seen in this out of focus picure down and to the rear of the reversing switch. Also FWIW the TAG on this EF example has 94DA 7003 AA as the part number.

Pulling out the speedo sender gear may also give you some clues.
In the speedo calc in technical documents theres a list of all the gears per model.

It might help you nail it down a little further.
