Hi all ,i am thinking of buying a xr6 style side ute for work , my question is ,I will have to lug around about 300- 400 kg of equipment all the time , is this to heavy & should i get the suspension upgraded , apparently ford wont do it unless u have cab chasi.also where is best place to get this work done in Adelaide. thanks

I've an XR6 Ute, they don't take weight too well. I put probably 400kg in the back and struggled with any sort of bump in the road. I had the exhaust scrape over very low speed-humps at 5km/h.
You definitely need the suspension upgrade.

You may be able to special order a styleside box with 1-tonne suspension, though you will be stuck with the 16" wheels.

Could take it to a pedders joint and get the rear suspension beefed up a bit... Or get some polyair air bags to help with the weight...

There is options out there for it... A lot of people do run those polyair's now... and they seem to make all the difference...
