Its all done and im happy with the result. Started replacing the springs, shocks, struts, camber/caster kit and upper/lower ball joints Sunday week ago. Had a problem with the LH lower control arm bolt for the strut, the bolt was rusted and had to cut the strut bracket to get it and the bush out. I found that if you mark the top rubber seat on the outside for the front springs prior to removing old ones its easier to line up the new springs as the new coils dont finish in the same spot as the old ones (can see blue mark in the pic) I did need to use a spring compressor to fit the new spring on the right rear as the watts link mount was in the way. It drives so much better now and the steering wheel doesnt jump around when you hit bumps or small potholes. Also the stubs were slighly worn where the wheel bearings seat causing a clunk even with bearings tight, all i did was make some small indentations with a centre punch and all is good now. All i need now is some nice rims but not sure as what type yet but have thought about ROH Fury.

Thanks shums, i would love new rims but close to $2000 i may just settle for wider tyres to fattem em up a little. They are currently 205's i think 215's may look better .

Hey mate are they superlows cos i love the look of a lowered fairmont on stock rims! I have just lowered mine with King lows and Monroe shocks same as you and have also noticed a really nice stiff ride now. I think i might have to go for the superlows tho as low is a bit too high.

Yeah they are Superlows as the Lows had the same height on the front as stock.

Bit of an update on the lowering! Well victoria police didnt like it so i now have a "minor defect notice" the car is simply too low and only by 10mm. Turns out the rears have dropped 25mm more than the spec of 350mm HTG. Have ordered Lows but in the heavy duty. I have till Aug 8 to have it rectified or my car is deemed unregistered!

Yeah i know it sucks! i saw just last night in the city an EB Falcon so low it looked like it was driving on the bump stops and had what looked like 18's. Yet i get hassled just after 2 weeks and it looks stock, no loud exuast and all original apart from the springs. All in all the law is the law but just dissapointed that the springs on the rear dropped so much. KingSprings were really helpful resolving my problem. They really do have good after sales service. Pitty Ford isnt the same in most cases
