Hey all am going to replace the shocks and springs on my ford later next year, but i wanna get some info on how to remove and install them before I even buy them, take it getting the Ford EF Haynes repair manual would be a good step, but was hoping to have a guide that someone maybe has made themselfs on these etc etc,
looking at putting the Monroe GT lowered shocks with King Springs Low in the front, and maybe SSL in the rear which should level it out yeah? Thanks.

best thing to do if you are unsure is to read the manual if they have spent the time to write it up its pointless someone on the forums trying to tell you what to do when its in the manual.
If you want to get the car nice and even i would go with sl in the front and ssl in the rear. |

i swapped out my springs and shocks aswell using the factory manual, reeeeeaaaallllly easy to follow. but you really should get yourself some spring compressors from supercheap or somewhere they come on handy... and make sure you have a 18mm socket lol

oh cool too easy got manual now need to get spring compressor and then the springs etc

Are the front bushes in good condition?
Maybe worth considering a bush kit and replace them while the front is dismantled...it will really help the handling/safety. |

think so looks like they have been replaced at one stage might look again though

oze-ford wrote: think so looks like they have been replaced at one stage might look again though every e series i have stuck my head under has orange replacement bushes, if yours havent been replaced yet i woulld be very suprised, when i had my first car i was told when i went for a rego inspection that alot of e series cars come in with flogged out bushes in the front end or have been replaced with the good ones as its one of their problems, i suppose every car wears out bushes though

heres a somewhat crappy picture of the 'bushes' i think lol, only had a quick second to take them,
   middle one is red while rest are black.
