Hi guys was interested in fitting a trans cooler to my auto el, but woundering a few things...
Any benefits ? ( there is sometimes a faint smell of trans oil burning when I drive the car hard) What type should I be looking at ? How hard are they to fit ? Are they able to be bolted up easily ? And how do I plumb it back into the system ? Thanks for any help

Exactly what I was looking for ! I had searched the same thing on ebay and had similar results but glad to see someone provide an actual one for the EL !

This kit ive fitted to my last 2 fords
$99 https://www.americanautos.com.au/cgi-bi ... tion=13203 i used the supplied brackets for the bottom, and cut down another 2 right angle brackets (bunnings $3.50) for the top i also bought my own 1 metre length of hose from the transmission shop as the supplied hose was too tight to go over the flared ends of the factory trans lines a $20 pipe bender also allows you to move the steel lines away from the radiator giving you room to slip on the new trans cooler rubber hoses without sharp bends |

 SWC thanks for the offer but I'll pass for the moment. I called up a local radiator joint for some quotes on supply and fitment so I will see what they offer and if it's over what I am prepared to pay I think I will give it a go myself. |

I called up a local radiator joint for some quotes on supply and fitment so I will see what they offer and if it's over what I am prepared to pay I think I will give it a go myself. dude its actually extremely easy, you should have a go at it yourself first mount the cooler behind the front bar, then run the hoses into the engine bay Drive the front wheels onto bricks so the oil from the lines flows back to the gearbox then unscrew the metal pipes from the radiator and slip on the rubber hoses from your cooler. |

Thanks for all the help guys
I wrote off to a local radiator shop for supply and fitment of the part and was qouted $210 which I thought was a decent price. Will consider my options, just have to set aside time to actually fit it in the back yard. |
