all i ended up doin was just jackin the srivers side rear wheel as it dont got a limo
lol
so only 1 side needed up

so next step ahead

Yes you would need to jack both up if you had an LSD
Oh and I think you'll find you would need to jack up a HSV to turn the tail shaft too. In fact any rear wheel drive car :)

nah mate
i din have to jack the rear in my hsv
and thats a limo
but only cus i cna access all 4 bolts without turnin the shaft cus there more "MODERN"
lol

hey peoples

everything is finally all unbolted to take the box out]

but u think the bloody thing would come out
keep wigglin the box side to side but the motor jus keeps turnin with it
how the bloody hell am i ment to part the box from the notor
ive never had this problem
but then again i've never changed an auto box
onlly ever manuals

please help folks

did you undo the torque convertor bolts??? behind dust cover on engine end of trans.

ihave NEVER changed an auto box in my life

so no i havent done that
wat do i gotta do to do that
dust cover is off
everything is unbolted now wat

behind the dust cover is a big round plate with screws in it. but come to think of it im not sure now wether these need co come out. box should disconect from torque convertor yes? meh undo the torque convertor bolts anyways.

i dont think they need to be undone

any1 else please help
box is a 3 speed auto

all bolts unbolted and dust cover is off but box dont wanna part from motor
wats goin on wrong

is the starter motor unbolted.
are you sure that there aren't any bolts still in bellhousing?

i cant think of anything else.. the gearbox should just slide backwards now.. shifter is unbolted from the top??

Hahah trying to turn the tailshaft with the back wheels on the ground? that made me laugh really hard.

on a serious note you obviously have no idea what your doing

YOU MUST REMOVE THE TORQUE CONVERTER BOLTS!

the way an auto gearbox works is that the torque converter is bolted to the flywheel (which is bolted to the engine) and spins constantly.

although the torque converter can disconnect from the gearbox that is not the way to remove the gearbox. you must remove the bolts from the other side of the flywheel (you will break your gearbox if you dont remove the bolts)

Do yourself a favor and get a workshop manual for your car before you break something or drop a gearbox on your head when your under the car.

If you ever do get to remove the trans make sure the torque converter doesnt come off the trans as there will be fluid everywhere!!!

and i have never changed an automatic gearbox b4

so next time please be a bit nicer
