Ok. I have an ELXR6 manual.
When I'm cruising along, lets say in forth, and I plant my foot, as the car accellerates the car seems to pull back (like jolt) a few times, randomly. It occurs kinda like clutch slip... but it's not revving out or anything, so I figure it's not the clutch. Any ideas on what's doing it? Cos it accelerates like a piece of s**t while this happens and is bloody uncomfortable, jolts like it does if you stupidly almost stall it. Is it something to do with the diff or tailshaft or something?.. I seriously have no idea here. Any advice would be appreciated. |

my EF does a similar thing if the revs are too low on it (i.e. under 1200RPM). i think it's clutch/driveline related and am getting a new one fitted very soon (the shudder's just giving me the s**t big time now!!). i'll let you know if that fixes the prob!

does the engine rev up still? like is the engine speed increasing but the vehicles speed isn't?

no the engine doesn't rev up still. which is why i thought it wasn't the clutch. it just stops accelerating <with no increase in revs> for like half a second, does it a few times then stops.

Sounds a bit like TPS (throttle position sensor) may be out as my car was doing the same thing before it was fixed up but mines an auto. TPS voltage must read about 0.9V but less than 0.95V so get a multimeter onto it and check it out (thats if someone can confirm that manual is the same as auto)
Also might be worth checking signal transducer on the side of the transmission
