well i went to midas and a quick look and he reckons the stub axle and steering rack need replacing.

$330 for labour if i supply parts with an alignment.

i got the steering rack and stub axle (with disc) for $100 from a wrecker.

I will now ring around, and ask for how much to fit the rack and stub axle.

It's a bummer when two mobs look at the car and give totally different information.

It might be hard to tell if the radius rod is bent due to it already being factory bent.

The lower control arm is alloy, if it is bent, or even if it's not, it might be prudent to check for cracks.
