Have heard a bunch of stuff about fitting a resistor to the trans computer in the 5.0 to get firmer shifts. Can somebody give me details of this mod. I have a 96 EFII 5.0 Fairmont Ghia V8. The Auto could use a little help and it may just improve my times at WSID

Me and a mate did it to his I6, do they have the same box as the v8s tho?

Basically it takes 2 resistors and thats it, i'll get back to you on how to do it if its the same box.

The 8's are different to the 6's as the 8's have a seperate computer for the transmission. There was information on http://www.mechanicalforums.com. As 66coupe said above, you can buy premade kits, or do it yourself.

Cheers
