how can i tell if my mats diff is a lsd?

mate just got a diff today and the guy said it was a LSD but when you spin the uni only one rotor spun
the diff codes are

86DA 4005ca (tag held on by bolt)
9578-039900 (plate middle of diff(cover))
2.92

Pull off the back cover and check. It may have a snapped axle, or stuffed cones?

install it, do a big burnout, and if both wheels spin then its a lsd, if it dont, take it back and give him a biff for lying to you.

Turn one axle and if the other one turns in the same direction it is LSD if it turns the otherway its non LSD if it doesnt turn then one axle is broken.

yeah like twason said. jack up the rear. turn one wheel and if they turn in opposite directions it isnt a LSD. if they both turn the same way u have a LSD

the tag on the diff will have LSD HIGH PERFORMANCE stamped on it. (but of course that's not 100% as the tag may have been removed).

HOLD ONE AXEL AND GET SOMEONE TO TRY AND TURN THE OTHER AXEL, IF THEY WONT TURN THEN ITS A LSD, BUT IF ONE DOES THEN U MAY HAVE A BASIC DIFF.

Ooh ooh oooh!! i know this one! i know this one!!!

Turn one wheel one way and if the other wheel spins with it, then its an LSD.
But if it spins the other way, it's not an LSD.
