hey everyone i wanted to buy an exhaust for my car but then i found out there is the IRS one and the normal one. how can i tell if my car has IRS or not? its an 96 EL fairmont. what should i look for?

what about aftermarket? EL Fairies didnt come with LSD stock but this one does :S

LSD was an option, IRS wasn't for ANY E-series...

I've never seen an IRS set up, but I'd assume if the rear wheels were to be able to travel up and down seperately from each other the diff and axels could just be a straigh peice, there'd have to be some sort of i don't know, uni joint or something there to enable them to move seperately.
But IRS wasn't introduced on Falcons, Fairmonts or Fairlanes till AU onwards.

put it in park or in gear and if it squats in the rear end, thats the lazy way... or you can look under neath and see if its got 2 arm kinda things comming out or if its a straight through axle
