Ever since getting my Whiteline suspension fitted well over a year ago now by Inline Steering & Suspension (located in Queanbeyan, just outside of Canberra), I've kept going back. Not only is the workmanship top notch, but the service is great as well. They get the work from the local Porchse/Benz/Lotus dealers as well as many of the smash repairers.

I go in frequently to ensure my alignment is right, not just right but how I like it (little bit of extra neg camber on each wheel). Chris (the owner) takes the car for a test drive, comes back and can say how far out it is, and he's spot on to half a degree. He also picked up (and fixed) a suspension squeak, and while he was at it gave the front and rear end a tighten up, and adjusted the steering cause he felt it wasn't reactive enough. And it was a good call, as driving every day those sorts of wear and tear items go unnoticed. He also picked up warn tie rod bushes (I was thinking it was going to be ball joints) which I'll be getting replaced next Wednesday.

And all that's from a $50 alignment.

Overall I can't recommend Inline highly enough. And it's always a good show in the workshop. Today there were some old skool Porshes, and a new race prepped Elise getting work done. He specialises in performance suspensions, so he knows his stuff and will listen to you're preferences, or if requested offer suggestions.

data-mine,

Thanks for the heads up. Even though I'm in Sydney, recommendations like that will help anyone in the ACT or surrounding area.

Will be one to remember if I need something down there done.

have to be careful of saying bad things about a place - can cause legal issues, slander and all. So I'll stick to pimping the great, and saying nothing otehrwise.

I don't see anything wrong with posting a personal bad experience with a place as long as you keep to the facts and keep everything truthful. If you fucus on what he did good/bad with your car and not the mechanic himself.

After all, if you take your car to a suspension place to get a wheel alignment and the wheel falls off 10km down the road, I don't really see that anyone could have a legal claim against you if you report that fact anywhere.

Yeah ive had him do stuff on my car too, only complaint that the car is rarely done when he said it would be, but thats typical of most places anyway

He did the front and rear bushes on my XR6

I just had my alignment done at a local Bridgestone trye Centre.
As I've been on nightshift, I got the old girl to pick it up for me.
Bastard tried to convince her that -1.3 camber was 'too much', and that I'd need a camber kit, that'd cost 'about $300', and that it 'wasn't safe as it was'.
It took me at least an hour to explain to my mother why it was safe, and that the negative camber would help me keep front end grip when i was doing 120ks around corners :P

-1.3 a side
Actually left is a bit more if I remember rightly.
I think about -3 total
Out of interest data_mine, how much toe are you running?

no toe (well cross toe is 0.2°). -1.5° a side camber, and caster is 0.

Not quite V8SC @ -6° a side, but I like tyres that last more than a hundred klms.

I am running -1.33 LH, -1.00 RH, Without a camber kit and have even wear, although I do drive it hard. I am running 1mm toe in each side.

The camber is just there to counteract the bending/rolling/warping of supension and tyre components under hard cornering. Falcons have a good double A-Arm suspension on the front so don't need to run as much camber as say mcpherson strut Commodores.

Just dug up the printout..
-2 degrees left, -1.3 right.
From .3mm to 1mm toe-in.
Felt the toe as soon as I got it back.
It was very 'zippy' with the .3 toe.
I'l see how that left tyre wears, and decide whether to lessen that via a camber kit.
0 castor data_mine?
