Isn't shift firmness altered by the ecu anyway in the BA's?

Don't you need a hardware shiftkit?

I'm not sure about being able to make one for the BA's, i know a mate got one from shiftkits.com, afaik, for around the $100 mark.
He seems pretty happy with it.
