ok is it easy enough to put a lock diff in an AU with IRS?

dont know how the CV's will cope with it , but the point is that the V8 supercars have cv's & locked diffs so i cant see it really being to much of a prob for ya .
but you will never know if you dont try it

I believe that the V8 super cars run a live axle, hence no CV's. I dont think they would last, but hey you never know if you don't try.

Live axle doesn't always mean no CVs 
Are we talking about a LOCKED diff or one of those "lock-rite/lokka" things that are used by 4wds and can be had for BWs? A locked diff, mini or full spool would be pretty harsh on the IRS diff I'd have thought, I've known of a few AU IRS LS diffs to go kaboom behind stock cars. A lokka or lock-rite would be alot less harsh, but they aren't used that often by Ford guys, they seem to be popular with a few of the calaisturbo guys, only negative they seem to mention is they can be noisy (clicking) while turning. I'm thinking of getting one for myself.

hmm how do think they get the camber on the rear , 9 inch axles dont bend for camber : P

hmm, getting camber on a solid axle does seem interesting...
I wonder if you can get stronger CV's to throw into the IRS? |

There are many kinds of locked diffs, most japanese cars run a mechanical diff which locks when power is put through the diff and unlocks when power is taken off the diff.
Yep there is a lot of difference between LSD and Locked As the name says an LSD is a limited slip diff, you will find with these that the wheels can still spin at different speeds up to a point where as a locked diff is exactly that locked, both wheels turn at the same speed no matter what. Differences in driving is a locked diff with tend to throw you around the corner and usually putting you sideways and an LSD will drive you around a corner.
