k guys, i wanna get LSD put into my car... but all i know about it is that it make both wheels spin..lol can u guys explain what else it does. i dont know to much about mod'n the engine side of things but i hear lots of ppl doin this.
anywayz 2moros my day off so i wanna go round to places to get some prices but i dont know exactly what ask for? ive been told to find an ef el xr and get it off that? what do i need? cheerz fellaz

easiest thing to do would be to get an EF/EL XR6 3.45 diff, straight disc to disc swap, main difference is the LSD will spin both wheels, get more traction and is easier to control...they also break a whole lot quicker than single spinners (depending on how you drive) and cost a bit more to fix, but yer i;d definately go it.

yeh thought so, now wheres the best place to get them? wreckers? i dont wanna buy 1 thats already rooted.. lol not worth buyin a new one?

FTG sponsors of this site usually have them in stock, sorta hard to tell buying one from the wreckers till you chuck it in it could be in good knick or rooted look in the forsale section here some ppl have them for sale sometimes, depends how much cash you wanna spend really if you get a cheap one and rebuild it your set

Good luck trying to find a second hand 3.45 LSD in Perth, rang a heap of wreckers about a month ago and had no luck, a lot of them didnt even know what I was talking about. Ended getting new prices for a four pinion LSD centre $700, new 3.73 gear's $450, $250 for new carrier bearings and fitting $1400 in total. Just keep in mind it will cost about $350/$500 to recondition a stuffed LSD.

oh really... thankx yeh i rang up one place and they sed 1250 but i didnt ask if it was a 3.45.. so i duno ill ring back when im ready..
